If you answered yes to these questions, then you may be a fit for the Category Manager, Gemstones & Pearls role with our client, an industry leading eCommerce retailer owned by a reputable Private Equity firm.


  • Create, calibrate and execute procurement strategies across all purchasing channels as directed by company leadership.
  • Ensure strong vendor relationships through regular communication, while monitoring vendor performance and compliance.
  • Generate policies and protocols for gathering key metrics to mitigate risk and lower expenses while improving productivity.
  • Track industry product trends and manage competitive positioning of product categories.
  • Conduct audit of production facilities to verify adherence to compliance protocols.


  • Bachelor’s Degree required in business administration, logistics, purchasing, supply chain management or related field.
  • Graduate Gemologist certification or equivalent industry credential, required.
  • 5+ years of experience in procurement, including strong emphasis on project management.
  • Deep knowledge of sourcing/procurement best practices and the diamond market.
  • Expert analytical, negotiation and communication and decision-making skills.
  • International travel required, variable up to 6-8 weeks per year.
